![]() I play them since med 2 and with it's AI once you learn the mechanics there is really nothing to stop you. I don't find any total war games difficult. Lord skill trees playing a bigger role, so much that you can do with magic and certain item combos. The other thing is that generic advice doesn't work that well, can't just say spears vs cav always win for example, as there are a gazillion exceptions. Same with how WRE in Attila is said to be so hard, but once you realize that you start out with an already big empire you can consolidate and have a super easy and comfortable campaign.Īny particular mechanics on your mind? I just think that warhammer has too much stuff from a newbies point of view - while I could more easily give some quick advice for someone starting out with shogun 2 than I could for warhammer. Sure realm divide is a challenge but it happens pretty late, where you are already a powerhouse and can only be surprised once by it. Not that many mechanics to learn and if you know a few things you can do well with every shogun 2 factions. You can easily win shogun 2 by using ashigaru well and securing sea trade routes.
